Microsoft CFO blames tough times for profit scale back

Microsoft's chief financial officer has said that the software giant is starting to feel the effects of the economic slump after the company lowered its profit forecasts.

Chris Liddell said the company was facing a 'tough environment' as online advertisers reined in their spending, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The software company lowered its profit predictions for 2009 after making a Q4 pre-tax profit of $4.3bn (£2.15bn).
