CABI hails new digital supplement

Scientific, technical and medical database provider eases access to non-digital content

By Kim Thomas 25 Oct 2005

Scientific database provider CABI Publishing is to release a new supplement to its abstracts service, CAB Abstracts Plus in January 2006.

The new service will enable users to search 10,000 full-text documents that are difficult to find, including conference proceedings, reports and journal content not available through the mainstream aggregators. CAB Abstracts Full Text Select, a core part of CAB Abstracts Plus, is a repository for literature that is not currently available in electronic form.

Although some of the content is already in electronic format, much of it is hard copy, said CABI marketing manager Theresa Corless, and CABI has been digitising the content in partnership with enterprise content.
