E-book provider Ebrary has extended its pricing models and added 8,000 new titles to its service.
It now offers 10 multi-user subscription databases, priced according to the number of full-time equivalent end-users using them, and has made it possible to subscribe to e-books by subject.
Ebrary’s additional 8,000 titles will be added to its perpetual access list. E-books on this scheme may be accessed by one or more users, depending on the model chosen, with no limit of time.
Ebrary is also targeting smaller education institutions with its Academic Standard product, a cut-down version of Academic Complete. It consists of more than 14,000 e-books on business, marketing, economics, computing, education, history, humanities, health, reference, and social and behavioural sciences.
“Ebrary always had a number of offerings and we went with it because of that flexibility,” said Bournemouth University librarian David Ball. “The addition of an extra 8,000 titles is welcome.”
He said that Bournemouth’s deal with Ebrary via the Southern Universities Purchasing Scheme (SUPC) was proving very cost-effective, offering access to 30,000 titles costing 60p per book, per year ( Click here to read more about SUPC and Ebrary).
