The Poynter Review into the loss of two computer discs containing the details
of 25 million families by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will be published this
afternoon.
The review was conducted by PricewaterhouseCoopers chairman Kieran Poynter.
The Cabinet Office will also this afternoon publish its final report on data handling procedures across government.
This review, which has been led on behalf of the cabinet secretary by Robert Hannigan, head of intelligence, security and resilience in the Cabinet Office, was also commissioned by prime minister Gordon Brown last November following the HMRC loss.
The reports will also coincide with the publication of the Burton Review into the loss of a Ministry of Defence laptop.
