Global Graphics has launched an e-document builder application - gDoc Fusion, that simplifies common tasks such as creating, reviewing, editing, sharing and archiving PDF and XPS documents. The application has a file format conversion that allows easy drag and drop options from a wide range of different file formats into a single document that can be saved as a PDF, XPS or a Word document.

Following a research, Global Graphics found that office staff find PDF software the most difficult business application to use because of its multiple document formats.
“We created gDoc Fusion after extensive research into how people use office software. The over-riding message was that people want software that’s as easy to use as an iPhone, Facebook and other consumer gadgets,” said Gary Fry, chief executive, Global Graphics.

Unlike other tools that offer a wide range of options to perform simple tasks, gDoc Fusion provides straight-forward file format conversion and a number of special views to suit different ways of working. “Current software has focussed on features rather than usability and office workers have struggled to assemble information in a range of different formats,” said Fry.

With gDoc Fusion, professionals can extract, move and delete pages combining multiple documents from PDF, XPS, Word, Excel or PowerPoint files. Content can then be modified and saved as a PDF, XPS or Word document without requiring to install “Office” softwares. Its features also include bookmarks and “sticky notes”, visual search, password security, a guided process to enter document summary information and optimal settings for print or web publishing.

The full version of the application costs £99 for a single user licence. It includes a free PDF/XPS and Microsoft Word reader and is targeted at enterprise, government and education establishments looking to reduce software licensing costs.

Initially available in English and German, gDoc Fusion is currently rolled out for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.
