I am paraphrasing the title of an article I wrote nearly two years ago ("If I were Amazon's Jeff Bezos, I would ...", see: www.infotoday.com/it/nov98/article1.htm, in which I praised the innovative spirit and business policy of Amazon.com and its CEO, and mentioned some of the ways the Amazon experience could be extended to improve online public access catalogues in libraries.
