UK carrier Energis plans to offer mobile phone services to its business customers through a three-year agreement with mobile operator, Orange.

Energis will provide mobile services starting in September under the Energis Mobile brand. Energis will be the first virtual network operator on Orange's network. Energis Mobile will share its revenue with Orange.

The agreement is part of Energis' aim to become a single supplier for business communications, internet and ecommerce needs. The company said Energis Mobile will enable it to deliver "state-of-the-art voice and data mobile services adding value to its fixed portfolio".

"Most businesses have a range of suppliers for their different communication needs. The missing part for Energis was a mobile service offering, but the agreement with Orange will mean we can offer these customers a one-stop shop for integrated communication services," said a spokesman for Energis.

The carrier also offers customers ecommerce services, web streaming, clustered hosting, and virtual internet service provider and application service provider solutions, under its Energis Squared internet subsidiary.

Mike Grabiner, chief executive at Energis, said the operator would also let corporates host their own Wap content using the Energis Squared Wap hosting service.

Energis will be responsible for sales and marketing of the new service, while Orange will provide customer services, technical support and billing. Orange will also be able to sell Energis fixed line services to its own customers.
